Discussion Reflection Part 4 for Week 6: Part 4 talks of the Age of Revolution, the formation of the new world order that comes out of the upheaval of three very important revolutions chronologically; The American Revolution, that would see the birth our great nation and the great social experiment we call our Republic. The French Revolution, overthrowing the seat of power in the monarchy and would see the rise and fall of the “first great consul” Napoleon Bonaparte and his armies march across Europe. The Industrial Revolution, which would change the face of life as people knew, shifting society from a human scale to an industrial scale where mechanization would replace the biological workforce of the past, and new technology would change the face of the planet. How have the revolutions of Democracy as a governance structure, and the technological advances in our modern world affected life as we know it? How have these elements impacted the music of our time (give specific examples)?
