Learning Goal: I’m working on a computer science case study and need support to help me learn.
Throughout this course you will need to complete the Pacific Trails Resort case study at the end of each chapter. These case studies serve as a way to reinforce the skills discussed within each chapter. At the end of each week, you will be required to create a ZIP file of your case study folder and submit it via the submission link below. Each chapter’s case study (FYI – Not all chapters have an end of chapter case study) will build upon the previous chapter’s case study files. You will need to submit the LAST chapter of the week’s case study files when you submit or you will not get full credit.
Solutions videos to the prior week’s case studies will be posted the following week. Please review the solution video and make sure you correct your files as needed.
TIPS:
- Practice Hands-On Practice 2.15. Hands-on Practice solution files can be found in the student files, downloaded from the companion website.
- The closing html tag is the last line of code in all HTML files.
- The closing body tag is the 2nd last line of code in all HTML files.
TASKS:
- Create ASURITE-ch2CS folder and *** change ASURITE to your own ASURITE ***
- Follow the instruction listed in chapter 2 Review and Apply –> Case Study –> Pacific Trails Resort Case Study to finish the case study to create files that display web pages like Figures 2.30 and 2.31. A Note: do not add br tag in the p tag to break the info in the p tag. You can make the browser narrower then your browser view will be the same as those 2 figures. *** There is no case study for Chapter 1 ***
BEFORE YOU SUBMIT:
- Validate your code at https://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_upload (Links to an external site.)
- Confirm that the code is properly indented. (neatness counts – items nested within elements must be indented).
- Confirm your files are located in yourASURITE-ch2CS folder with your own ASURITE (i.e. selin2-ch2CS). If you don’t, 25 points will be deducted from your final score.
- Right click on the ASURITE-ch2CS folder and select “Compress [foldername]” option on Mac to create the .zip file. Right click on the ASURITE-ch2CS folder and select “Send to” -> “Compressed (zipped) folder” on Windows to create the .zip file. Change the .zip file name to yourASURITE-ch2CS.zip if it is not.
