Writing Question

This component requires you to come up with 5 summative assessments/project options that would be reasonable alternatives to a final exam. One page per each assessment.

THE ASSESSMENTS HAVE TO BE BASED AROUND THESE THREE OUTCOMES FROM THE SASKATCHEWAN CURRICULUM FOR GRADE 5:

Outcome: CR5.1

Analyze and respond to a variety of grade-level texts (including contemporary and traditional visual, oral, written and multimedia texts) that address identity (e.g., Exploring Heritage), community (e.g., Teamwork), social responsibility (e.g. What is Fair?).

Outcome: CR5.4

Read and demonstrate comprehension of a range of contemporary and classical grade-appropriate fiction, sсrіpt, poetry, and non-fiction (including magazines, reports, instructions, and procedures) from various cultures including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit and countries (including Canada).

Outcome: CC5.2

Demonstrate a variety of ways to communicate understanding and response including illustrated reports, dramatizations, posters, timelines, multimedia presentations, and summary charts. – Fully describe each project component (as an example look at my project choice sheet I gave at the end of a novel study attached below).

– Allow students some degree of choice that considers multiple learning styles, student strengths, and interests

IMPORTANT: for ONE of the project choices, create a rubric as the method for which you will be assessing the project.

For the rubric, you must: – connect the rubric to a learning outcome as identified in earlier components – develop an analytic rubric which measures the chosen learning outcome at the Apply or higher levels of Bloom′s taxonomy – create at least 3 levels (ex: Beginning 1, Meeting 2, Exceeding 3) – ensure that there are at least 5 criteria on the rubric that focus on an important aspect of performance – provide detailed, and increasingly progressive information, about each area of criteria – use desсrіptors that are clearly defined and easy to understand – be fair and free of bias Below I attached the grading rubric from my prof along with student exemplar work from other students to give you an idea.
